Sara remined me...
that I haven't told anyone the big house news. Bernie has been considering buying a lot on the river to eventually build a house on. Instead we saw a house that we loved and he bought that for the time being, and now we are crazily trying to get his house put on the market. Lot's of cleaning, repairing, and more cleaning. He might still buy a lot and build on it in a few years, we're not sure. Here's a link so everyone can take a looksie:

The wallpaper border is coming down, but everything else should be okay to move in. It has a really great view. It closes on August 31.
I think this post will cover the last bit of new and interesting news on my front. Tony Roma's is a sad past memory as of about two weeks ago. I got a new job at Missouri River Manor, a nursing home here in Great Falls. I'm an official social woker! I just started last week, but so far I am liking it and catching on fast. I did my internship in a Missoula nursing home so I'm familiar with most of the job already. My caseload right now is between 100 and 105...which is really quite large, but I'll do my best. The hardest thing is going to finding the time to meet all the residents in the first couple of weeks. I even have my own office. The pay isn't great, but money isn't the reason you compete a social work degree anyway.
I have to say that I have been thinking about London lots lately. It hurt my heart so much to read about it, all the more because I am familiar with the subway system and all the locations. The few people I know there are fine, so that was a relief. But it's still hard for me to think about it too in-depth because I get really emotional about the whole issue and then every other issue in the world connecting to it. Sometimes I think my high empathy level is more bad then good.
vomit, vomit, vomit
The garage has been smelling gross since we got home. Since Hailey spent some time in there when she was smaller and we hadn't cleaned the floor since we left, we decided in must be dog piss on the floor. So we cleared everything out and cleaned the floor. But the smell would not go away. I came in the house and a few minutes later Bernie informed me that he had good news, good news, and bad news.
1. He found the source of the smell.
2. I wouldn't have to eat deer meat anymore.
3. He had unplugged the cooler over two weeks ago and now all the deer meat was rancid.
Oh the smell.....it is unexplainable. I went out to spray bleach in the cooler and I almost threw up all over the place. The smell immediately seeped into my clothes and followed us into the house. I think the freezer is going to the dump and the garage door is staying open for a few days. I have never experienced a more horrible smell.
I will learn how to edit.
I meant to add "bowser" at the end of the sentence that doesn't make any sense. Obviously, my captions are all screwed up too...but you are all smart enought to figure that out.
grrr....

If this worked it's a picture of Bernie and I at his house in North Dakota.
pictures????
Let's see if this worked....
First things first.
I'm not sure when I stopped communicating with the outside world, but I should probably start out with the most important news. I moved in with Bernie in March. Cohabitation is a first for me and I'm surprised by how smoothly it has all gone. Things got serious fairly quickly and it just felt like the right thing to do. It's strange when you realize what a strong and real relationship is...it made me wonder why how I ever put up with anything else.
We've been back to North Dakota three times since March. Most of Bernie's family lives in and around Bismarck, as do a few of his friends. This time was fun because of the holiday weekend. He had been talking up the Johnny Holmes concert for months, and surprisingly it lived up to my high expectations. It was outdoors and pretty much in Bernie's family's back yard which eliminated the need to drive anywhere. The band played all covers spanning every genre and generation. I did my fair share of dancing, singing, and being sick for a while. We made the 7+ hour trip home today, so needless to say we're a bit tired.
If anyone has any advice for me on how to post pictures, please feel free to share.
Let's try this again...
I haven't updated since January and I feel like a bit of a slacker. I got to thinking about how often I read everyone else's blog and I realized how important they are to me. Reading Kristen, Sara, and Heather's blogs everyday makes me feel like I get to talk to them. It's not really fair that I don't reciprocate for those interested. Consider this my apology for knowing all about your lives and not allowing you into mine.
There is too much to tell right now...I'm in North Dakota with Bernie and his family. They are about to set off fireworks and I should get back to being a social being. We are going back to Great Falls tomorrow and I will start the massive update then.
